Stratford holds on for 4-3 win against BramptonAllman Arena Fri, Feb 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stratford Cullitons survived a determined comeback attempt by the Brampton Bombers on the way to a 4-3 win. Stratford made the score 4-2 on a goal by Mitch Brooks at 12:29 in the third period, and Brampton got as close as 4-3 when Reid Jackman scored 19:42 into the third period. The Cullitons were sparked by Brooks, who finished with one goal and one assist. Stratford got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Stratford additionally got points from Ryan Watson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Stratford also got a goal from Liam Maaskant as well. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Trevor MacDonald and Jake Ryan, who each chipped in one and Dylan Wettlaufer and Andrew Barton, who contributed two a piece. The Bombers were helped by Brandon Clelland, who racked up one goal. Clelland scored on the power play 4:33 into the third period to make the score 2-2. A slashing penalty on Watson had put Brampton on the power play. Eric DiCarlo assisted on the tally. Brady Clouthier also scored for Brampton. In addition, Brampton received assists from Kyle Allan, Jacob Hanlon, and Michael Darrigo, who each chipped in one. Michael Pesendorfer recorded 27 saves for the Cullitons. Stratford totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. The Cullitons ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan was ejected from the game. Erik Angeli made 26 saves for the Bombers on 30 shots. Brampton totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Bombers, Greg Wilson was ejected from the game.
