Kitchener downs Caledonia in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Clayton Greer gave the Kitchener Dutchmen a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Caledonia Corvairs when he scored 4:07 into the extra period.

Kitchener was paced by Greer, who had one goal.

The Dutchmen forced Caledonia goalie Marcus DelConte to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Kitchener found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays.

Kitchener also got a goal from Brett Clampitt as well. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Keegan Calder, who had two and Philip Moser, Logan Schmidt (APM), Jordan Delaurier, and Keli Grant, who contributed one a piece.

The Corvairs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Caledonia was held below its usual level of production. The Corvairs average 4.2 goals per game. Caledonia's offense rang up 60 shots on the Dutchmen's net.

The Corvairs were helped by Jeff Swift, who registered one goal. Swift scored on the power play 15:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Caledonia earned a power play opportunity when Matt Guild was put in the box for hooking. Greg Christmas provided the assist. Ryan Blunt also scored for Caledonia. More assists for Caledonia came via Matt Quilty, who had two.

Kitchener's Marc Williams stopped 58 shots out of the 60 that he faced. DelConte recorded 28 saves for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
