J, Jackson dominate Buffalo, lead St. Catharines to 6-3 win

Behind two goals from Luciani J and two goals and one assist from Tyler Jackson, the St. Catharines Falcons downed the Buffalo Jr. Blades 6-3.

J scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 8:19 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines. A checking from behind penalty on Ryan Stayner had put St. Catharines on the power play. Jimmy Sheehan assisted on the tally. J's next tally on the power play made the score 3-3 with 12:06 left in the second period. Jackson picked up the assist. Jackson scored the first of his two goals at 5:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines. Mitch Bursey assisted on the tally. Jackson's next tally made the score 5-3 St. Catharines with 11:02 left in the third period. Koddi Quick picked up the assist.

The Falcons' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Buffalo power plays. St. Catharines kept Buffalo's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ian Shorthouse made 55 saves on 61 shots. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

St. Catharines also got points from Jackson, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. St. Catharines also got a goal from Brad Col as well. More assists for St. Catharines came via Ben Walsh, Yanni Rallis, and Aaron Taylor, who contributed one a piece.

The Falcons were unable to stop the Jr. Blades from sending pucks towards the net, and Buffalo eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

The Jr. Blades were led by Seth Hamilton, who finished with two goals. Hamilton scored the first of his two goals at 6:58 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Kennedy Monaco assisted on the tally. Hamilton's next tally made the score 2-2 with 3:09 left in the first period. Matt Corey provided the assist. Josh Gordon also scored for Buffalo. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Austin Crossley APJ, Tyler Kessler, and Domenic Gruttadauria, who each chipped in one.

Stormer Santana made 39 saves for St. Catharines on 42 shots. The Falcons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Buffalo incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Jr. Blades, Stayner was ejected from the game.
