Chatham holds on for 5-4 win against St. MarysChatham Memorial Arena Sun, Feb 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Chatham Maroons survived a determined comeback attempt by the St. Marys Lincolns on the way to a 5-4 win. Chatham took a 5-2 lead during the third period, only to have St. Marys storm back on a Owen MacDonald goal 17:19 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Maroons kept the Lincolns' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Theut made 37 saves on 42 shots. Chatham was led by Brennan Feasey, who grabbed three goals and one assist. Chatham additionally got points from Blake Blondeel, who also had one goal and two assists. Trevor Richardson also scored for Chatham. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Morris Branden and Evan Mascaro, who each chipped in one and Michael Verboom and Ian Faubert, who contributed two a piece. St. Marys also got points from Calvin Penney, who also tallied one goal and one assist. St. Marys also got a goal from Kurtis Lavis as well. In addition, St. Marys received assists from David Sproat, who had one. Darien Ekblad recorded 26 saves for the Maroons. Chatham incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. St. Marys incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
