Cambridge rips Guelph, 4-0Sleeman Centre Thu, Feb 14, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cambridge Winter Hawks were firing on all cylinders against the Guelph Hurricanes, and when the final buzzer sounded Winter Hawks emerged with a 4-0 win. Cambridge was sparked by Brennon Pearce, who finished with one goal. Pearce scored 18:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cambridge. Tyler Snyder provided the assist. The Winter Hawks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Guelph to score on any of its four power plays. Cambridge's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Winter Hawks gives up 2.7 goals on average per game. Cambridge's offense rang up 43 shots on the Hurricanes' net. Cambridge also got a goal from Hudson Michaelis as well. More assists for Cambridge came via Trevor Hache, who had two and Christian Barnard, Aaron Duggan, Cameron Pentsa, Lawrence Pagnan, and Chris Taylor, who contributed one a piece. Guelph managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Hurricanes wound up below its season average of 22.0 penalty minutes per game. Guelph was held below its usual level of production. The Hurricanes average 2.5 goals per game. Lucas Machalski rejected 23 shots on goal for the Winter Hawks. Cambridge incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jason DaSilva recorded 39 saves for Guelph.
