Stoney Creek beats Niagara Falls 1-0 as Brooks-Potts gains shutout

The Stoney Creek Warriors used a sparkling performance by Alexander Brooks-Potts to take down the Niagara Falls Canucks, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Stoney Creek's 1-0 shutout victory.

Blake Luscombe's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 4:12 in the third period. Ryan Lewis assisted on the tally.

The Warriors were led by Luscombe, who tallied one goal.

Stoney Creek excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances.

Other players who recorded assists for Stoney Creek were Zach Nieminen, who had one.

Niagara Falls' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Stoney Creek power plays. The Canucks could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Niagara Falls averages 4.4 goals per game.

Alexander Brooks-Potts made 29 saves for the Warriors on 29 shots. Stoney Creek ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. The Warriors ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jake Milligan was ejected from the game. The Canucks' Hunter Johnson stopped 24 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Niagara Falls ended with 25 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For the Canucks, Tory McLean was ejected from the game.
