Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the St. Catharines Falcons defeated the Port Colborne Pirates in a shootout 6-5 (1-0 SO). The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout.St. Catharines overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Falcons fell behind 2-0 after a power play goal by Port Colborne's Bryan Komasara at 12:15 in the first period. St. Catharines tied things up at 5-5 on a goal by Dima Lavrenov at 14:46 in the third period. The Falcons forced the Pirates' goaltenders to work all game long, racking up 50 shots and forcing 44 saves. Morgan Hudson made 30 stops and Real Cormier made 14. St. Catharines was led by Yanni Rallis, who finished with two goals and one assist. Rallis scored the first of his two goals at 19:38 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Luke Karaim provided the assist. Rallis' next tally made the score 3-2 St. Catharines with 18:03 left in the second period. The Falcons had gained a power play chance when Jordan Warren was whistled for tripping. Ben Walsh assisted on the tally. Greg Jambrosich also scored for St. Catharines. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Koddi Quick, who had two, Julian Luciani, who had three, and Tyler Jackson and Dan MacEachern, who contributed one a piece. Port Colborne's offense rang up 35 shots on St. Catharines' net. Port Colborne also got a goal from DYLAN BURDICK as well. More assists for Port Colborne came via Dayne Phillips, who had two and Zack Deconilys, Nathan Judd Warren, Pat Murphy, Trevor Smith, and Charlie Izaguirre, who each chipped in one. Stormer Santana made 30 saves for the Falcons on 35 shots. St. Catharines incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Falcons, Kyle Woodhouse was ejected from the game. The Pirates incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
