Leamington downs St. Marys, 6-2

Jared Dennis had two points to lead the Leamington Flyers to a 6-2 victory over the St. Marys Lincolns.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 4:16 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Leamington was often in penalty trouble, totaling three minors and four majors for 36 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 20.0 minutes per game the Flyers had been spending in the box. Leamington's offense rang up 46 shots on St. Marys' net. The Flyers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Leamington has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

Leamington also got points from Alex Seguin, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Kyle Shaw also scored for Leamington. More assists for Leamington came via Myles Doan, Nick Beaune, Nathan Opblinger, Kyle Bowman, Tony Spidalieri, and Brett Langlois, who each chipped in one.

The Lincolns found themselves short handed often, totaling 27 penalty minutes and allowing four power plays.

St. Marys was led by David Sproat, who had one goal. Sproat scored 17 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Marys. Danny Bryan provided the assist. St. Marys also got a goal from Colin Nancekinell as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Marys were Calvin Penney, who had one.

Austyn Roudebush rejected 24 shots on goal for the Flyers. For Leamington, Jacob McGhee, Cole Chevalier, Donnie Nagle, and Langlois were ejected from the contest. Jacob Theut recorded 40 saves for the Lincolns. St. Marys registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Team's Bryan, Tyson Baker, and Dylan Bedard were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
