The Niagara Falls Canucks had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Buffalo Jr. Blades. Niagara Falls got the win behind a great game by Michael Christou, who had two goals and one assist. Christou scored the first of his two goals at 3:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Niagara Falls. Darren Young assisted on the tally. Christou's next tally made the score 5-1 Niagara Falls with 25 seconds left in the second period. Cole Langan picked up the assist. The Canucks forced Buffalo goalie Brandon Klein to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Niagara Falls bested its season scoring average. The Canucks average 4.6 goals per game. Niagara Falls also got points from Drew Berkel, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Young, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Niagara Falls also got a goal from Brad Kri as well. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara Falls were Matthew Mannella, Tory McLean, Cam Stewart, Cole Vinnai, Frank Nemeth, and Marcus Michalski, who each chipped in one. Hunter Johnson rejected 28 shots on goal for Niagara Falls. The Canucks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Klein recorded 25 saves for the Jr. Blades. Buffalo incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jr. Blades ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Stayner was ejected from the game.
