Sauve's big game bests London in 6-3 Sarnia winWestern Fair CC Wed, Jan 30, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Brent Sauve had two goals and one assist to lead the Sarnia Legionnaires to a 6-3 victory over the London Nationals. Sauve found the back of the net 9:22 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Sarnia and again while 15:40 into the third to make the score 4-3 Sarnia.Sarnia's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five London power plays. The Legionnaires outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Sarnia averages 3.8 goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Sarnia also got points from Josh Kestner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Jason Teschke, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Thomas Moxley, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Sarnia also got a goal from Matt Cimetta as well. More assists for Sarnia came via Derek D`Andrea, who had two and Hunter Tyczynski, Nathan Mater, and Jeff King, who each chipped in one. London's offense rang up 40 shots on the Legionnaires' net. The Nationals were helped by Sean Consitt, who registered one goal. Consitt scored 7:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 London. Jeff Bauer picked up the assist. Blake Thomas also scored for London. Other players who recorded assists for London were Lance Pridham, Ryan Wells, Paul Hopkins, Tyler Bryden, and Derek Todosichuk, who contributed one a piece. Sean Parker rejected 37 shots on goal for Sarnia. The Legionnaires incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Taylor Edwards recorded 17 saves for London. The Nationals incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
