Kitchener squeaks by Guelph, 4-3Kinsmen Arena Tue, Jan 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kitchener Dutchmen gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Guelph Hurricanes. Kitchener gained the winning advantage on a goal by Philip Moser 3:14 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer. The Dutchmen were paced by Moser, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Kitchener additionally got points from Jordan Delaurier, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kitchener also got a goal from Connor Cole(APM) as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kitchener were Ty Learn, Ryo Kobayashi, Keli Grant, Tyler Hoffman, Keegan Alvestad, and Chris Eckert, who contributed one a piece. Guelph was led by Matt Lippa, who registered one goal and one assist. Lippa scored on the power play 9:00 into the second period to make the score 2-2. The Hurricanes had gained a power play chance when Keegan Calder was whistled for hooking. Craig Martini provided the assist. Chad Herron also scored for Guelph. More assists for Guelph came via Steven Domenichini, Caleb Champagne, and Sebastian Stangherlin, who each chipped in one. Kitchener's Jack Moylan stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Dutchmen incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jason DaSilva made 21 saves for Guelph on 25 shots. The Hurricanes incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
