Denomme's big game bests London in 6-2 LaSalle win

Dylan Denomme had two goals and two assists to lead the LaSalle Vipers to a 6-2 victory over the London Nationals.

Denomme found the back of the net 18:25 into the first period to make the score 2-1 LaSalle and again while 3:26 into the third to make the score 4-2 LaSalle.

LaSalle put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow London to score on any of its three power plays. The Vipers forced the Nationals goalie Taylor Edwards to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

LaSalle additionally got points from Korey Morgan, who also finished with one goal and two assists and Eric Noel, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Brendan McCann also scored for LaSalle. More assists for LaSalle came via Scott Prier, who had one.

London racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with nine minors and two majors for 28 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 25.0 minutes per game the Nationals had been spending in the box.

London was helped by Aaron Dartch, who had one goal. Dartch scored 16:54 into the second period to make the score 3-2 LaSalle. Jeff Bauer provided the assist. London also got a goal from Blake Thomas as well. Other players who recorded assists for London were Mark Gazdic and Tyler Bryden, who contributed one a piece.

Taylor Speed recorded 24 saves for LaSalle. The Vipers totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 2-for-7 on the power play. Team's Spencer VanBuskirk and Graeme Brown were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Taylor Edwards made 30 saves for the Nationals on 36 shots. For London, Connor Allison and Ryan Tuffin were ejected from the contest.
