London downs Strathroy, 7-2

Ryan Wells registered two points to lead the London Nationals to a 7-2 victory over the Strathroy Rockets.

London forced Strathroy's goaltenders to work between the pipes, racking up 36 shots and forcing 29 saves. Gordie Weiss made 28 stops and Dalen Kuchmey made one. The Nationals bested their season scoring average. London has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign. The Nationals cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on four chances.

London additionally got points from Jeff Bauer, who also had one goal and one assist, Sean Consitt, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Aaron Dartch, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Others who scored for London included Jonathan Sims, who had one and Blake Thomas, who had two. In addition, London received assists from Tyler Bryden, who had two and Lance Pridham, Matt Fuller, Connor Allison, Paul Hopkins, Ryan Tuffin, and Keaton Ratcliffe, who contributed one a piece.

The Rockets were helped by Max Naus, who registered one goal. Naus scored 5:32 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Strathroy. Shawn Grogan picked up the assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Matthew Watson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Tony Belony and Nick Boyer, who each chipped in one.

Taylor Edwards rejected 27 shots on goal for London. The Nationals ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. London ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matt Wildman was ejected from the game. Strathroy totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. For the Rockets, Tyler Coleman was ejected from the game.
