London blows out St. Marys, 6-2

The London Nationals were firing on all cylinders against the St. Marys Lincolns, and when the final buzzer sounded Nationals emerged with a 6-2 win.

London got the win on the strength of a great game by Aaron Dartch, who had two goals and one assist. Dartch scored the first of his two goals at 9:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 London. Jeff Bauer picked up the assist. Dartch's next tally made the score 6-2 London with 3:08 left in the third period. Sean Consitt provided the assist.

The Nationals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five St. Marys power plays. London forced St. Marys goalie Craig Wood to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. The Nationals surpassed their usual scoring output this season. London averages 3.9 goals per game.

Lance Pridham also scored for London. Other players who recorded assists for London were Shawn Crowley, Matt Fuller, Noah Schwartz, and Mark Gazdic, who contributed one a piece.

The Lincolns struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Nationals to score two power play goals on three chances.

St. Marys was helped by Tyson Baker, who had one goal. Baker scored 5:00 into the second period to make the score 3-2 London. Danny Bryan assisted on the tally. St. Marys also got a goal from David Sproat as well. More assists for St. Marys came via Calvin Penney, Mitch Smith, and Zak MacNaught, who each chipped in one.

London's Nick Dampier stopped 14 shots out of the 16 that he faced. The Nationals incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. London ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryan Wells was ejected from the game. Wood rejected 40 shots on goal for the Lincolns. St. Marys incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Lincolns, Owen MacDonald was ejected from the game.
