The Waterloo Siskins gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Brampton Bombers. Waterloo gained the winning advantage on a goal by Jakub Jelen 2:58 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. The Siskins were sparked by Matthew Mah, who registered one goal. Mah scored on the power play 5:49 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Waterloo. Waterloo earned a power play opportunity when Jake Derkach was put in the box for high sticking. Christian Mroczkowski picked up the assist. The Siskins' offense rang up 39 shots on Brampton's net. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Waterloo additionally got points from Mroczkowski, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Stephen Witiuk also scored for Waterloo. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Eric Cimino, who had two and Brandon Jones, Evan Buehler, James Soper, Ryan Doucette, and Danny Hanlon, who each chipped in one. The Bombers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
