The Listowel Cyclones tried to dig themselves out of a four-goal hole, but the Waterloo Siskins held on for a 4-2 victory. A goal by Jacob Bonin put Waterloo up 4-0 in the third period, but Listowel pulled to within two on Connor Patton's tally 16:56 into the third period. The Siskins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Waterloo's offense rang up 48 shots on the Cyclones' net. The Siskins were helped by Danny Hanlon, who finished with one goal and one assist. Hanlon scored 2:05 into the third period to make the score 3-0 Waterloo. Christian Mroczkowski picked up the assist. Waterloo additionally got points from Mroczkowski, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Waterloo came via Brandon Jones, who had two and Trevor Atkinson APJ, Eric Cimino, and James Soper, who contributed one a piece. Listowel put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Waterloo to score on any of its five power plays. The Cyclones kept the Siskins' goalie busy throughout the game, and PJ Bridges made 38 saves on 40 shots. Listowel also got points from Jacob Robitaille, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Sam Harris and Brandon Preistap, who each chipped in one. Waterloo incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Listowel's Drew Reinhardt stopped 44 shots out of the 48 that he faced. The Cyclones incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
