Elmira downs Waterloo in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Brandon Stewart gave the Elmira Sugar Kings a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Waterloo Siskins when he scored 3:39 into the extra period.

Elmira overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Sugar Kings was down 2-0 after a goal by Waterloo's Jakub Jelen at 17:28 in the second period. Elmira tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Brady Campbell at 17:20 in the third period.

The Sugar Kings' penalty kill excelled, as Elmira gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Sugar Kings stifled the Siskins' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Elmira kept Waterloo's goalie busy throughout the game, and PJ Bridges made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Elmira also got a goal from Mitch Wright as well. Other players who recorded assists for Elmira were Pat McKelvie(APJ), Cass Frey, Cash Seraphim, Jake Weidner, and Matt Harding, who each chipped in one.

The Siskins forced the Sugar Kings goalie Mackenzie Blackwood to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

James Soper also scored for Waterloo. More assists for Waterloo came via Keigan Goetz, Evan Buehler, Christian Mroczkowski, and Danny Hanlon, who contributed one a piece.

Blackwood rejected 33 shots on goal for Elmira. The Sugar Kings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Waterloo incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
