Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the St. Marys Lincolns defeated the Lambton Shores Predators in a shootout 2-1 (3-2 SO). The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams. Lambton Shores' shootout goals were scored by Austin Fetterly and Ryan Rontondi. In addition to the clincher, St. Marys got shootout goals from Owen MacDonald and Calvin Penney.The Lincolns were led by goalie Craig Wood, who finished with 26 saves while allowing one goal. Wood certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.81 entering the contest. St. Marys' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Lambton Shores power plays. The Lincolns were led by David Sproat, who finished with one goal. Sproat scored 16:52 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Marys. The Predators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Lambton Shores did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Predators average 3.1 goals per game. Lambton Shores was led by Rontondi, who scored the team's only goal. Rontondi scored 14:09 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Brett Thompson assisted on the tally. St. Marys incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brandon Campbell made 24 saves for the Predators on 25 shots. Lambton Shores incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. For the Predators, Cale Duberry was ejected from the game.
