Listowel holds on for 6-4 win against Kitchener

The Kitchener Dutchmen tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Listowel Cyclones would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4.

A goal by Caleb Cameron put Listowel up 6-3 in the third period, but Kitchener pulled to within two on Matt Guild's tally 15:51 into the third period.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 11:36 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

The Cyclones forced the Dutchmen goalie Marc Williams to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Listowel additionally got points from Dylan Sayle, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Listowel included Patrick Bell and Colten Pickett, who scored one goal each. More assists for Listowel came via Jacob Robitaille, who had three and Mac Nichol, Tanner Mighton, Sam Feagan, and Scott Pawson, who contributed one each.

Listowel was unable to stop Kitchener from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dutchmen eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Kitchener also got points from Eric Hammerl, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kitchener also had goals scored by Keegan Calder and Matt Papineau, who each put in one. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Clayton Greer, who had two and Jesse Young, Ty Learn, and Jordan Delaurier, who each chipped in one.

Drew Reinhardt rejected 34 shots on goal for the Cyclones. Listowel totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 3-for-7 on the power play. For the Cyclones, Pawson was ejected from the game. Williams recorded 32 saves for Kitchener. The Dutchmen totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For Kitchener, Greer and Papineau were ejected from the contest.
