Milligan nets hat trick, leads Stoney Creek to 7-3 win over Niagara Falls

A hat trick by Jake Milligan was the highlight in Warriors' 7-3 win against the Niagara Falls Canucks.

Milligan's first goal came 10:10 into the second period. He then added goals at 18:37 into the second and at 16:36 into the third.

The Stoney Creek Warriors kept Niagara Falls' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dylan Pietrangelo made 27 saves on 34 shots. Stoney Creek's goal total was higher than its season average. The Warriors average 2.9 goals per game.

Stoney Creek additionally got points from Harry Polyoka, who also had one goal and one assist, Zach Niemanen, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Alexander Zaccaria, who also grabbed two goals and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Stoney Creek were Parsa Monsef, Jake Bain, and Dave Eccles, who each chipped in one and Marco Mattina, Luke Zupan, and Cordell James, who contributed two a piece.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

The Canucks were helped by Billy Saxton, who finished with one goal. Saxton scored 2:41 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Niagara Falls. Cole Vinnai picked up the assist. Niagara Falls also got points from Vinnai, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Brad Kri also scored for Niagara Falls. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Sean Farquharson, Michael Christou, Cole Langan, Vito Scaringi, and Darren Young, who each chipped in one.

Alexander Brooks-Potts made 24 saves for Stoney Creek on 27 shots. The Warriors incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Niagara Falls incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
