Huge game by Campagnolo boosts Waterloo over Stratford, 9-4

Behind a great game by Adam Campagnolo, who had four goals and one assist, the Waterloo Siskins defeated the Stratford Cullitons, 9-4.

Campagnolo's first goal came 19:45 into the second period. He then added goals at 6:08 into the third, at 8:08 into the third, and at 16:04 into the third.

Waterloo's penalty kill excelled, as the Siskins gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Waterloo stifled Stratford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Siskins bested their season scoring average. Waterloo has scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign.

Waterloo additionally got points from Stephen Witiuk, who also tallied one goal and three assists. Others who scored for Waterloo included James Soper, who had two and Matt Cruickshank and Christian Mroczkowski, who each put in one. More assists for Waterloo came via Ryan Doucette, who had three and Trevor Atkinson APJ, Jordan Cale, Stephen Comegna, and Jakub Jelen, who contributed one a piece.

The Siskins were unable to stop the Cullitons from sending pucks towards the net, and Stratford eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Cullitons could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Stratford was helped by Andrew Barton, who racked up one goal. Barton scored 19:53 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Waterloo. Ryan Watson assisted on the tally. Stratford also got a goal from Shane O Brien as well. In addition, Stratford received assists from Dylan Wettlaufer, who had two and Josh Miller, Mitch Brooks, and Jake Ryan, who each chipped in one.

Waterloo's PJ Bridges stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Siskins incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Michael Pesendorfer made 16 saves for the Cullitons on 25 shots.
