St. Catharines' Bailey deadly on offense in 5-2 win against ThoroldJack Gatecliff Rink Fri, Dec 21, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Catharines Falcons relied on the scoring touch of Jordan Bailey, who netted two goals, to beat the Thorold Blackhawks, 5-2. Bailey scored at 34 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 St. Catharines and again while 2:55 into the third to make the score 4-2 St. Catharines.St. Catharines pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 32 penalty minutes. The Falcons' offense rang up 43 shots on Thorold's net. St. Catharines also got points from Ben Walsh, who also registered one goal and one assist, Mitch Bennett, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Luke Karaim, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for St. Catharines came via Tyler Jackson, who had one and Jimmy Sheehan, Greg Jambrosich, and Julian Luciani, who each chipped in two. The Blackhawks had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on nine chances. Thorold struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 26 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays. The Blackhawks were helped by Joe DiBiasi, who had one goal. DiBiasi scored 10:30 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Thorold also got a goal from Myles Falasca as well. In addition, Thorold received assists from Matt Pizzo and Chris Goulet, who contributed one a piece. St. Catharines' Stormer Santana stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Vinny Merante rejected 38 shots on goal for Thorold.
