London downs Chatham in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Noah Schwartz gave the London Nationals a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Chatham Maroons when he scored 4:01 into the extra period.

London was sparked by Schwartz, who finished with one goal.

In the losing effort, Chatham was led by Eric Palazzolo, who registered two goals. Palazzolo scored the first of his two goals at 10:18 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Chatham. Sean Myers assisted on the tally. Palazzolo's next tally made the score 3-2 Chatham with 9:21 left in the third period. Oliver Blayne picked up the assist.

The Nationals managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. London ended up below its season average of 26.0 penalty minutes per game. The Nationals forced the Maroons goalie Darien Ekblad to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. London got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

London also got points from Shawn Crowley, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Ryan Tuffin, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. London also got a goal from Paxton Leroux as well. Other players who recorded assists for London were Matt Fuller, Paul Hopkins, Jonathan Sims, Tyler Bryden, and Aaron Dartch, who contributed one a piece.

Chatham additionally got points from Myers, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. More assists for Chatham came via Nate Pietens, Steven Beenackers, and Blake Blondeel, who each chipped in one.

The Nationals' Taylor Edwards stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. London registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Darien Ekblad made 28 saves for Chatham on 32 shots. The Maroons incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
