Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Listowel Cyclones defeated the Waterloo Siskins in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO). The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams.Listowel saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. The Cyclones made the score 2-0 on a power play goal by Jacob Robitaille at 24 seconds in the third period. Waterloo evened things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Jacob Bonin at 13:18 in the third period. Listowel forced the Siskins goalie Darren Huck to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. The Cyclones were helped by Colten Pickett, who finished with one goal. Pickett scored 9:23 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Listowel. Dylan Sayles assisted on the tally. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Caleb Cameron, who had one and Mac Nichol, who had two. Waterloo's offense rang up 47 shots on Listowel's net. The Siskins were helped by Christian Mroczkowski, who registered one goal. Mroczkowski scored 7:08 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Listowel. Adam Campagnolo picked up the assist. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Trevor Atkinson APJ, Andrew Brubacher, and Danny Hanlon, who each chipped in one. Drew Reinhardt rejected 45 shots on goal for the Cyclones. Listowel incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Waterloo's Huck stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced. The Siskins incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
