Dartch leads London over St. Marys, 5-2

Behind a great game by Aaron Dartch, who had two goals and two assists, the London Nationals defeated the St. Marys Lincolns, 5-2.

Dartch's tallies came at 18:21 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and on the power play 8:21 into the second to make the score 3-1 London.

London's penalty kill excelled, as the Nationals gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

London could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Others who scored for London included Paul Hopkins, who had one and Blake Thomas, who had two. More assists for London came via Noah Schwartz, who had four and Paxton Leroux, Tyler Bryden, and Matt Wildman, who each chipped in one.

St. Marys' offense rang up 32 shots on the Nationals' net. The Lincolns' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as St. Marys finished with 24 penalty minutes.

The Lincolns were helped by Calvin Penney, who had one goal. Penney scored 5:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Marys. Mike Siddall assisted on the tally. St. Marys also got a goal from Owen MacDonald as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Marys were Braydon Blight and Dean Pawlaczky, who contributed one a piece.

London's Taylor Edwards stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Nationals registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. Jacob Theut rejected 14 shots on goal for St. Marys. The Lincolns ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Blight was ejected from the game.
