The Thorold Blackhawks pulled out a 2-1 (OT) overtime victory over the Stoney Creek Warriors on a clutch goal by Adrian Copeland.

Thorold was paced by Copeland, who racked up one goal. Copeland scored 1:25 into overtime to make the score 2-1 Thorold. Owen Sobchak assisted on the tally.

The Blackhawks could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Thorold puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The Blackhawks' offense rang up 55 shots on Stoney Creek's net.

Thorold also got a goal from Joel Forestell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Thorold were Vince Dunn and Dan Chudobiak, who contributed one a piece.

The Warriors managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Stoney Creek finished below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Warriors were led by Alexander Zaccaria, who scored the team's only goal. Zaccaria scored 10:23 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Stoney Creek.

Vinny Merante rejected 23 shots on goal for Thorold. The Blackhawks incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Brendan Polasek recorded 53 saves for Stoney Creek. The Warriors registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
