St. Marys falls to LaSalle in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The LaSalle Vipers' Dylan Seguin scored 58 seconds into overtime to beat the St. Marys Lincolns, 4-3 (OT).

St. Marys could not complete its climb out of a two-goal hole. LaSalle made it 3-1 on a goal by Ben Hanus at 19:38 in the second period. The Lincolns pulled to within 3-2 on a goal by Cody Filson at 3:47 in the third period.

Dylan Denomme had two goals and one assist to lead the Vipers. Denomme scored the first of his two goals at 31 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 LaSalle. Korey Morgan assisted on the tally. Denomme's next tally made the score 2-1 LaSalle with 2:27 left in the first period. Seguin picked up the assist.

LaSalle put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow St. Marys to score on any of its six power plays. The Vipers forced the Lincolns goalie Craig Wood to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

LaSalle additionally got points from Seguin, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Chad Shepley, Nathan Veres, Scott Prier, and Richard Villani, who each chipped in one.

St. Marys was helped by Mike Mandarelli, who had one goal. Mandarelli scored 7:07 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Danny Bryan assisted on the tally. St. Marys also got points from Owen MacDonald, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for St. Marys were Tyson Baker, who had two and David Sproat and Jonathan Rizzo, who contributed one a piece.

LaSalle's Taylor Speed stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Vipers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Wood recorded 33 saves for the Lincolns. St. Marys incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
