GAME RECAP

St. Marys survives LaSalle comeback, wins 5-3

Vollmer Recreation Complex    Wed, Nov 21, 2012

The St. Marys Lincolns came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the LaSalle Vipers, but did just enough to escape with a 5-3 victory.

St. Marys led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Lincolns' Calvin Penney's scored at 18:29 in the first period to put St. Marys up 3-0.

Sean Consitt had two goals to lead the Lincolns to victory. Consitt scored at 4:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Marys and again while short handed 16:20 into the third to make the score 5-3 St. Marys.

LaSalle's power play was ineffective against St. Marys' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Cody Filson also scored for St. Marys. More assists for St. Marys came via Mike Siddall, who had two and Kurtis Lavis and Reid Oliver, who each chipped in one.

The Vipers kept the Lincolns' goalie busy throughout the game, and Devin Golets made 29 saves on 32 shots.

LaSalle was helped by Dylan Seguin, who registered one goal. Seguin scored on the power play 9:53 into the second period to make the score 3-1 St. Marys. A high sticking penalty on Kyle Flemington had put the Vipers on the power play. Dylan Denomme assisted on the tally. LaSalle also got a goal from Chris Pignanelli as well. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Brad Carroll and Richard Villani, who contributed one a piece.

St. Marys incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Conner MacKinnon rejected 16 shots on goal for LaSalle. The Vipers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
