Thorold rips Buffalo, 10-3

The Thorold Blackhawks were firing on all cylinders against the Buffalo Jr. Blades, and when the final buzzer sounded Blackhawks emerged with a 10-3 win.

Tanner Pagendam had two goals and one assist to lead Thorold. Pagendam scored the first of his two goals at 7:38 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Thorold. Ben Hughes assisted on the tally. Pagendam's next tally made the score 9-3 Thorold with 8:39 left in the third period. Dan Chudobiak picked up the assist.

The Blackhawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Thorold forced Buffalo goalie Ian Shorthouse to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots. The Blackhawks outdid their season average for goals scored. Thorold has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Thorold also got points from Adrian Copeland, who also had one goal and two assists, Vince Dunn, who also registered one goal and one assist, Mackenzie Mac Avoy, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Mark Arnone, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Chudobiak, who also had one goal and one assist. Thorold also got a goal from Owen Sobchak as well. Other players who recorded assists for Thorold were Matt Pizzo, Kevin Lavoie, Joel Forestell, and Matthew Hoszko, who contributed one a piece.

The Blackhawks' Blake Richard stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Thorold incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Shorthouse rejected 36 shots on goal for the Jr. Blades. Buffalo incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
