Myers' hat trick boosts Chatham over Leamington, 5-2

The Leamington Flyers could not stop the Chatham Maroons' Sean Myers, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win.

Myers' first goal came 2:06 into the second period. He then added goals at 17:21 into the second and at 18:39 into the third.

Chatham kept Leamington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Austyn Roudebush made 27 saves on 32 shots.

Chatham additionally got points from Brennan Feasey, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Alexander Morgan also scored for Chatham. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Nate Pietens, who had one, Steven Szekesy, who had two, and Blake Blondeel, who had three.

The Flyers forced the Maroons goalie Darien Ekblad to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Leamington was led by Riley Babkirk, who finished with one goal and one assist. Babkirk scored 15:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington. Chris Scott assisted on the tally. Leamington also got a goal from Jared Dennis as well. More assists for Leamington came via Troy Cox and Eric Leardi, who contributed one a piece.

Ekblad rejected 38 shots on goal for Chatham. The Maroons totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Chatham ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Morris Branden was ejected from the game. The Flyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
