Leamington survives Lambton Shores comeback, wins 4-3

The Lambton Shores Predators tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Leamington Flyers held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Troy Cox put Leamington up 3-1 in the third period, but Lambton Shores pulled to within one on Ryan Rontondi's tally 6:13 into the third period.

The Flyers were sparked by Joe Manchurek, who had one goal. Manchurek scored 16:10 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Leamington. J.P. Grineau assisted on the tally.

Leamington forced the Predators goalie Justin Tugwell to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots.

Leamington also got a goal from Brett Babkirk as well. Other players who recorded assists for Leamington were Jacob McGhee, Alex Seguin, Jared Dennis, Mitchell Amante, Riley Babkirk, and Eric Leardi, who each chipped in one.

Lambton Shores stifled the Flyers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Kyler Keating also scored for Lambton Shores. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Adam Arseneault, who had two and Matteo Ciccarelli, Tanner Ferguson, Sam Jasmin, and Connor McKinnon, who contributed one a piece.

Matt Mancina made 19 saves for Leamington on 22 shots. The Flyers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tugwell recorded 41 saves for the Predators. Lambton Shores incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
