Spidalieri's goals lift Leamington to 5-2 victory over LaSalleLeamington Kinsmen Recreation Thu, Nov 15, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Leamington Flyers relied on the scoring touch of Tony Spidalieri, who netted two goals, to beat the LaSalle Vipers, 5-2. Spidalieri found the back of the net on the power play 11:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Leamington and again while on the power play 15:36 into the second to make the score 3-1 Leamington.LaSalle fell victim to a deadly Leamington power play, which ripped the Vipers for four goals. LaSalle was unable to stop the Flyers from sending pucks towards the net, and Leamington eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Flyers found themselves short handed often, totaling 38 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays. Leamington additionally got points from Cole Chevalier, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kyle Shaw also scored for Leamington. Other players who recorded assists for Leamington were David Dalby, who had one, Jacob McGhee, who had two, and Alex Seguin, who had three. The Vipers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 52 minutes in penalties during the game. LaSalle was helped by Eric Noel, who tallied one goal. Noel scored on the power play 6:21 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Leamington. The Vipers had gotten the advantage when Leamington's Spidalieri was sent off for tripping. Ben Hanus picked up the assist. LaSalle also got a goal from Blake Jones as well. More assists for LaSalle came via Chad Shepley, Dylan Denomme, and Brendan McCann, who contributed one a piece. Austyn Roudebush made 21 saves for the Flyers on 23 shots. LaSalle's Taylor Speed stopped 31 shots out of the 36 that he faced.
