Delaurier's goals lift Kitchener to 6-3 victory over ElmiraKinsmen Arena Tue, Nov 13, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Jordan Delaurier was all over the ice for the Kitchener Dutchmen, as he tallied two goals in Kitchener's 6-3 win over the Elmira Sugar Kings. Delaurier scored at 2:12 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kitchener and again while 8:09 into the third to make the score 5-3 Kitchener.The Dutchmen made Sugar Kings' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. Hayden Neuman made 18 stops and Mackenzie Blackwood made nine. Kitchener excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Dutchmen outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Kitchener averages 3.8 goals per contest. Kitchener additionally got points from Ty Learn, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Keli Grant, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Steven Jakiela, who also had one goal and one assist. Kitchener also got a goal from Keegan Calder as well. More assists for Kitchener came via Logan Schmidt (APM), Brett Clampitt, Eric Hammerl, Tyler Hoffman, and Jarett Parker(APM), who contributed one a piece and Philip Moser and Matt Pappineau, who each chipped in two. Elmira kept the Dutchmen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jack Moylan made 33 saves on 36 shots. The Sugar Kings were helped by Matt Sheick, who racked up one goal. Sheick scored 7:11 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kitchener. Zac Coulter provided the assist. Craig Johnson also scored for Elmira. In addition, Elmira received assists from Rob Kohli, Brady Campbell, Cass Frey, Mitch Wright, and Matt Harding, who contributed one a piece. Kitchener incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Elmira incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Sugar Kings, Jake Weidner was ejected from the game.
