Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Lambton Shores Predators defeated the Elmira Sugar Kings in a shootout 6-5 (1-0 SO). The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams.Lambton Shores overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Predators trailed 2-0 after a goal by Elmira's Mitch Wright at 18:10 in the first period. Lambton Shores tied things up at 5-5 on a goal by Adam Arseneault at 19:56 in the third period. The Predators got the win behind a great game by Arseneault, who had two goals and two assists. Arseneault scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:03 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Elmira. Lambton Shores had gained a power play chance when Pat McKelvie(APJ) was whistled for checking from behind. Kyle Brothers assisted on the tally. Arseneault's next tally on the power play made the score with four seconds left in the third period. Tanner Ferguson provided the assist. The Predators kept the Sugar Kings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Hayden Neuman made 26 saves on 32 shots. Lambton Shores surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Predators average 3.0 goals per contest. Lambton Shores additionally got points from Cale Duberry, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Ferdinando Colella, who also finished with one goal and one assist.
