The London Nationals came close to giving away a four-goal lead to the Brampton Bombers, but did just enough to escape with a 6-5 victory. London led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Nationals' Paul Hopkins' scored at 17:47 in the first period to put London up 4-0. Aaron Dartch was all over the ice for the Nationals, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Dartch scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 13:30 into the first period to make the score 2-0 London. London had taken the advantage when Brampton's Brendan Lyons got sent off for high sticking. Noah Schwartz picked up the assist. Dartch's next tally on the power play made the score 3-0 London with 3:10 left in the first period. In the losing effort, the Bombers were led by Calvin Gomes, who had two goals and one assist. Gomes scored the first of his two goals at 9:20 into the second period to make the score 4-3 London. Kyle Allan assisted on the tally. Gomes' next tally made the score 6-5 London with 15:24 left in the third period. Brampton earned a power play opportunity when Connor Allison was put in the box for holding. Allan picked up the assist. London additionally got points from Schwartz, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Ryan Tuffin also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Blake Thomas, who had two and Lance Pridham, Ryan Wells, Mark Gazdic, and Jonathan Sims, who contributed one a piece. The Bombers forced their penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and one major for 37 minutes in penalty time. Brampton had been averaging 30.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Bombers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. The Bombers registered one goal on five power play opportunities. For Brampton, Phil Caputo was ejected from the game.
