Dampier stymies Lambton Shores, London wins 4-1

The London Nationals relied on the sparkling performance of Nick Dampier in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Lambton Shores Predators.

London's penalty kill excelled, as the Nationals gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

London was led by Derek Todosichuk, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Todosichuk scored 19:48 into the first period to make the score 2-0 London. Ryan Tuffin assisted on the tally.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 7:11 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Nationals stifled Lambton Shores' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. London was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Ryan Wells also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Connor Allison, Paul Hopkins, Keaton Ratcliffe, Scott Lombardi, and Aaron Dartch, who each chipped in one.

The Predators kept the Nationals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dampier made 38 saves on 39 shots.

Lambton Shores was led by Kyle Brothers, who scored the team's only goal. Brothers scored 4:23 into the second period to make the score 3-1 London. Adam Arseneault picked up the assist.

London registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Team's Matt Ross and Paxton Leroux were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Brandon Campbell took the loss and made eight saves before being replaced by Justin Tugwell who made 17 saves. The Predators ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. For Lambton Shores, Bryan Boersma and Matthew Lencz were ejected from the contest.
