The Leamington Flyers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the St. Marys Lincolns would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-5. St. Marys made the score 6-3 on a goal by David Sproat at 13:43 in the second period, and Leamington got as close as 6-5 when Tony Spidalieri scored 19:02 into the third period. Sproat had one goal and two assists to lead the Lincolns. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 1:41 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. St. Marys surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Lincolns average 3.8 goals per contest. St. Marys additionally got points from Owen MacDonald, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Reid Oliver, who also tallied one goal and one assist. St. Marys also got a goal from Calvin Penney as well. More assists for St. Marys came via Mike Mandarelli, who had two, Braydon Blight, who had three, and Danny Bryan and Bryan McCauley, who contributed one a piece. The Flyers kept St. Marys' goalie busy throughout the game, and Craig Wood made 34 saves on 39 shots. Leamington also got points from Brett Babkirk, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. David Dalby also scored for Leamington. The Lincolns totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play. For St. Marys, Penney and Dean Pawlaczky were ejected from the contest. Leamington's starting goalie, Austyn Roudebush, made 12 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Matt Mancina, who stopped four shots. The Flyers totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 3-for-7 on the power play. Leamington ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chevalier was ejected from the game.
