St. Marys wins tough contest against Lambton Shores, 3-2The Shores Recreation Centre Sat, Oct 20, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between the St. Marys Lincolns and the Lambton Shores Predators was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end St. Marys emerged with a 3-2 win. No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Mike Mandarelli at 19:18 of the third period. Lambton Shores' power play was ineffective against the Lincolns' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. St. Marys was paced by Mandarelli, who tallied one goal. The Lincolns' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Lambton Shores power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. St. Marys also got points from Braydon Blight, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. St. Marys also got a goal from Kurtis Lavis as well. More assists for St. Marys came via David Sproat, Dean Pawlaczky, Jonathan Rizzo, and Kyle Flemington, who each chipped in one. St. Marys was unable to stop the Predators from sending pucks towards the net, and Lambton Shores eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Predators were helped by Tanner Ferguson, who had one goal. Ferguson scored 29 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-2. Adam Arseneault picked up the assist. Kyle Brothers also scored for Lambton Shores. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Adam Wammes and Ryan Rontondi, who contributed one a piece. The Lincolns' Craig Wood stopped 31 shots out of the 33 that he faced. St. Marys incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Brandon Campbell made 21 saves for Lambton Shores on 24 shots. The Predators incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
