Chatham beats LaSalle 3-2 after comeback scare

The LaSalle Vipers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Chatham Maroons would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

Chatham took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have LaSalle storm back on a Dylan Denomme goal 13:40 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Maroons were led by Brennan Feasey, who registered one goal. Feasey scored on the power play 2:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Chatham. Chatham had taken the advantage when the Vipers' Chad Shepley got sent off for interference. Brayden Hopkins provided the assist.

Chatham also got a goal from Michael Verboom as well. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Steven Szekesy, who had one and Trevor Richardson, who had two.

LaSalle kept the Maroons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Darien Ekblad made 32 saves on 34 shots.

More assists for LaSalle came via Scott Prier and Eric Noel, who each chipped in one.

Chatham incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Conner MacKinnon rejected 23 shots on goal for the Vipers. LaSalle incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
