Listowel vanquishes Kitchener in shootout, 3-2 (1-0 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Listowel Cyclones defeated the Kitchener Dutchmen in a shootout 3-2 (1-0 SO).

The shootout featured five attempts between both teams.

Listowel overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Cyclones trailed 2-0 after a power play goal by Kitchener's Ryo Kobayashi at 13:51 in the second period. Listowel tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Ben Shelley at 14:42 in the third period.

The Cyclones were sparked by Shelley, who racked up one goal.

Listowel kept the Dutchmen's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jack Moylan made 31 saves on 34 shots.

Caleb Cameron also scored for Listowel. Other players who recorded assists for Listowel were Mac Nichol, Chris Gillman, Tanner Mighton, and Sam Feagan, who each chipped in one.

The Cyclones were unable to stop Kitchener from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dutchmen eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

More assists for Kitchener came via Brett Clampitt, Steven Jakiela, David Jennings, and Dylan Bursey, who contributed one a piece.

Daniel Dekoning rejected 29 shots on goal for Listowel. The Cyclones incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Kitchener incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
