LaSalle pulls away in second, rolls over Fort Erie, 11-1

The LaSalle Vipers scored six goals in the second period to pull away from the Fort Erie Meteors and clinch an 11-1 win.

Eric Noel had a great game for LaSalle, netting two goals. Noel found the back of the net 5:42 into the second period to make the score 2-0 LaSalle and again while on the power play 3:36 into the third to make the score 8-1 LaSalle.

The Vipers' penalty kill excelled, as LaSalle gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Vipers forced Fort Erie's netminders to work in net, launching 32 shots and forcing 21 saves. Connor Visca made nine stops and Wyatt Pickrell made 12. LaSalle stifled the Meteors' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Vipers found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. LaSalle averages 4.4 goals per game.

LaSalle additionally got points from Korey Morgan, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Evan Makaric, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Nathan Savage, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Daniel Slipchuk, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Ben Hanus, who also tallied two goals and one assist, and Dylan Seguin, who also racked up two goals and one assist. LaSalle also got a goal from Nathan Veres as well. More assists for LaSalle came via Dylan Denomme, who had three, Zack Percy, Scott Prier, and Graeme Brown, who each chipped in one, and Blake Jones and Brendan McCann, who contributed two a piece.

Fort Erie's offense operated below it season average. The Meteors average 3.1 goals per game.

Fort Erie was led by Mike Boles, who scored the team's only goal. Boles scored 9:00 into the second period to make the score 3-1 LaSalle. Jesse Parker picked up the assist.

Taylor Speed made 19 saves for the Vipers on 20 shots. LaSalle incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Meteors incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Fort Erie ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nik Passero was ejected from the game.
