Robitaille's hat trick boosts Listowel over Buffalo, 7-1

Jacob Robitaille lifted the Listowel Cyclones to a 7-1 victory with a hat trick against the Buffalo Jr. Blades.

Robitaille's first goal came 15:10 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:43 into the third and at 15:04 into the third.

Listowel was led by goalie Drew Reinhardt, who finished with 33 saves while allowing one goal. Reinhardt certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.98 entering the contest.

Buffalo was unable to stop the Cyclones from sending pucks towards the net, and Listowel eventually piled up 68 shots on goal. The Cyclones found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Listowel averages 4.4 goals per contest.

Listowel additionally got points from Caleb Cameron, who also had one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Patrick Bell, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, and Brandon Preistap, who also registered one goal and one assist. Chris Gillman also scored for Listowel. More assists for Listowel came via Brooks Nelthorpe, Mac Nichol, Tanner Mighton, Shawn Moore, and Ben Shelley, who contributed one a piece.

The Jr. Blades forced the Cyclones goalie Reinhardt to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Buffalo was led by Tyler Kessler, who scored the team's only goal. Kessler scored on the power play 8:07 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Jr. Blades earned a power play opportunity when Nichol was put in the box for high sticking. Gavin Abbott assisted on the tally.

Listowel incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Cyclones ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nichol was ejected from the game. Ian Shorthouse rejected 61 shots on goal for Buffalo. The Jr. Blades incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
