Dima Lavrenov gave the Port Colborne Pirates the lead in the first period, and the Brampton Bombers was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-2. Port Colborne took over the lead for good with a goal by Lavrenov at 7:11 in the first period. Dayne Phillips assisted on the tally.Brampton's power play was ineffective against the Pirates' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Port Colborne was led by Charlie Izaguirre, who finished with one goal. Izaguirre scored on the power play 11:06 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Port Colborne. Morgan Hudson made 27 saves for Port Colborne on 29 shots. The Pirates incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For Port Colborne, Michael Sharp was ejected from the game. Brampton's Erik Angeli stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Bombers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
