Fort Erie holds on for 3-2 win against Stoney Creek

The Stoney Creek Warriors tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Fort Erie Meteors held on for a 3-2 victory.

Fort Erie made the score 3-1 on a goal by Nik Passero at 4:25 in the second period, and Stoney Creek got as close as 3-2 when Parsa Monsef scored 2:25 into the third period.

Passero had two goals to lead the Meteors to victory.

Team could not crack the Warriors' penalty kill and was held to one power play goal while having nine opportunities to play with the man advantage.

Jesse Pereira also scored for Fort Erie. In addition, Fort Erie received assists from Anthony Passero, who had two and Austin Carroll, Dallas Ingram, Jesse Parker, and Jonathan England, who each chipped in one.

Stoney Creek was helped by Ryan Lewis, who registered one goal. Lewis scored on the power play 11:24 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Stoney Creek. The Warriors earned a power play opportunity when Richard DeMarco was put in the box for hooking. Jake Bain picked up the assist. More assists for Stoney Creek came via Alexander Zaccaria, who had one.

Fort Erie's Connor Visca stopped 26 shots out of the 28 that he faced. The Meteors incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Fort Erie ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Nigel Slade was ejected from the game. Alexander Brooks-Potts rejected 26 shots on goal for Stoney Creek. The Warriors incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
