Teschke nets hat trick, leads Sarnia to 8-4 win over St. Thomas

Jason Teschke lifted the Sarnia Legionnaires to an 8-4 victory with a hat trick against the St. Thomas Stars.

Teschke notched his first tally 14:40 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:03 into the second and at 19:25 into the third.

Sarnia made Stars' goaltenders to work without much rest, totaling 34 shots and forcing 26 saves. Luke Bierworth made 19 stops and Tynan Lauziere made seven. The Legionnaires outdid their season average for goals scored. Sarnia averages 4.3 goals per game. The Legionnaires got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

Sarnia also got points from Matt Cimetta, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Derek D`Andrea, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Davis Boyer, who also racked up one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Steve Farlow also scored for Sarnia. More assists for Sarnia came via Zack Tuchklaper, who had two and Chad Beauchamp, Josh Kestner, and Spencer Bronzi, who each chipped in one.

St. Thomas kept Sarnia's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sean Parker made 37 saves on 41 shots.

The Stars were helped by Michael Lucifora, who tallied one goal. Lucifora scored 6:26 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Blair Mincer provided the assist. St. Thomas additionally got points from Cam Garrow, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. St. Thomas also got a goal from Ian MacDonald as well. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Ryan Hamelin, Martin Kudla, and Drew Collinson, who contributed one a piece.

The Legionnaires incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. St. Thomas incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
