Waterloo squeaks by Brampton, 5-4

The Waterloo Siskins and the Brampton Bombers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Waterloo made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-4.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by James Soper at 16:40 of the third period.

Stephen Witiuk had one goal and two assists to lead the Siskins. Witiuk scored 16:56 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Waterloo. Daniel Hanlon picked up the assist.

In a losing effort, Brampton was paced by Brady Clouthier, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Clouthier scored the first of his two goals at 17:06 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Waterloo. Francois Cote provided the assist. Clouthier's next tally made the score 3-3 with 4:04 left in the second period. Kyle Allan picked up the assist.

Waterloo additionally got points from Brandon Jones, who also had one goal and one assist, Ryan Doucette, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Adam Campagnolo, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Waterloo came via Trevor Atkinson APJ, Matthew Mah, Eric Fischer, and Christian Mroczkowski, who contributed one a piece.

Brampton also got points from Cote, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jake Derkach also scored for Brampton. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Evan Capobianco, Jacob Hanlon, Brad Sheppard, and Greg Wilson, who each chipped in one.

Darren Huck recorded 15 saves for Waterloo. The Siskins incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Waterloo, Keigan Goetz was ejected from the game. Erik Angeli made 20 saves for the Bombers on 25 shots. Brampton incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
