The Stoney Creek Warriors tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Port Colborne Pirates would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. Port Colborne took a 4-0 lead during the third period, only to have Stoney Creek storm back on a Cordell James goal 12:08 into the third period to pull to two goals down. Pat Murphy had a great game for the Pirates, netting two goals. Murphy's tallies came at 10:02 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Port Colborne and on the power play 11:55 into the second to make the score 3-0 Port Colborne. Port Colborne put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Warriors to score on any of their three power plays. The Pirates' offense rang up 33 shots on Stoney Creek's net. Port Colborne's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Port Colborne also got points from Charlie Izaguirre, who also registered one goal and one assist. Port Colborne also got a goal from Dima Lavrenov as well. Other players who recorded assists for Port Colborne were Bryan Komasara, who had one and Dayne Phillips and Jordan Warren, who each chipped in two. Wesley St. Amand also scored for Stoney Creek. More assists for Stoney Creek came via Lucas Triemstra, Parsa Monsef, Neil Aird, and Luke Zupan, who contributed one a piece. Morgan Hudson recorded 22 saves for the Pirates. Port Colborne incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Alexander Brooks-Potts made 29 saves for the Warriors on 33 shots. Stoney Creek incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
