Young leads Niagara Falls over Fort Erie, 6-3

Darren Young was all over the ice for the Niagara Falls Canucks, as he tallied one goal and two assists in Niagara Falls' 6-3 win over the Fort Erie Meteors.

Young scored on the power play 2:26 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Niagara Falls. The Canucks had taken the advantage when Fort Erie's Alex Untersberger got sent off for tripping. Brad Kri picked up the assist. Young dished an assist on Michael Christou's goal that made the score 2-1 Niagara Falls at 3:23 into the second period. He added another helper on Cam Stewart's goal that made the score 5-3 Niagara Falls at 12:28 into the third period.

Niagara Falls kept the Meteors' goalie busy throughout the game, and Wyatt Pickrell made 37 saves on 43 shots.

Niagara Falls also got points from Christou, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Vito Scaringi also scored for Niagara Falls. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara Falls were Cole Langan, who had one and Cole Vinnai, Drew Berkel, and Marcus Michalski, who contributed two a piece.

Fort Erie was led by Jesse Pereira, who racked up one goal and two assists. Pereira scored 6:48 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Aaron Wanat provided the assist. Fort Erie additionally got points from Jesse Parker, who also registered one goal and one assist. Fort Erie also got a goal from Mike Boles as well. More assists for Fort Erie came via Riley Devine and Nigel Slade, who each chipped in one.

Hunter Johnson made 27 saves for the Canucks on 30 shots. Niagara Falls incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Meteors incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
