The Stoney Creek Warriors tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Welland Jr. Canadians would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. Welland took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Stoney Creek storm back on a Cordell James goal 17:34 into the third period to pull to two goals down. The Jr. Canadians got the win behind a great game by Brooker Muir, who had two goals and one assist. Muir scored the first of his two goals at 9:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Welland. Gabe Ruggi picked up the assist. Muir's next tally made the score Welland with 16:09 left in the third period. A holding penalty on Connor MacIvor had put Welland on the power play. Daryl Thomson assisted on the tally. The Warriors were unable to stop the Jr. Canadians from sending pucks towards the net, and Welland eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The defensemen of the Jr. Canadians were also effective in Stoney Creek's zone, and came away with two goals. Welland found itself short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays. Welland additionally got points from Aaron Beally, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Chris Langdon, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Welland received assists from Spencer Giles, who had one. The Warriors forced the Jr. Canadians goalie Chris McDougall to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. Stoney Creek also got a goal from Luke Zupan as well. Other players who recorded assists for Stoney Creek were Lucas Triemstra and Jake Bain, who each chipped in one. Chris McDougall made 42 saves for Welland on 44 shots. The Jr. Canadians registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Brendan Polasek rejected 29 shots on goal for Stoney Creek. The Warriors incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For Stoney Creek, Parsa Monsef was ejected from the game.
