St. Catharines pulls away in second, rolls over Stoney Creek, 8-0

The St. Catharines Falcons scored four goals in the second period to pull away from the Stoney Creek Warriors and clinch an 8-0 win.

Luke Karaim was all over the ice for St. Catharines, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. Karaim scored the first of his two goals at 33 seconds into the third period to make the score 7-0 St. Catharines. Yanni Rallis picked up the assist. Karaim's next tally made the score 8-0 St. Catharines with 2:18 left in the third period. Ben Walsh provided the assist.

Stoney Creek's power play was ineffective against the Falcons' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

St. Catharines put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Warriors to score on any of their six power plays. The Falcons kept Stoney Creek's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexander Brooks-Potts made 32 saves on 40 shots.

St. Catharines also got points from Walsh, who also tallied one goal and three assists, Rallis, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Aaron Taylor, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also got a goal from Jimmy Sheehan as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Catharines were Julian Luciani, who had four and Greg Jambrosich, Brady Allen, Dan MacEachern, Jesse Miller, and Anthony Pullia, who contributed one a piece.

Johnathon D Ilario recorded 15 saves for St. Catharines. The Falcons totaled 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors and two majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For St. Catharines, Brad Col, Taylor, and Braeden Kavaravtzis were ejected from the contest. The Warriors ended with 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors. Team's Parsa Monsef and Wesley St. Amand were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
